Tuka Beach in General Santos City - Philippines

Of all the beaches in General Santos City, Tuka is one of the most interesting. Tuka Beach is located in the town of Kiamba in Sarangani. To go to Tuka Beach from the General Santos City proper, all that one has to do is to first and foremost ride a van going to Kiamba from the transport terminal at North Osmeña Street. The fare going to the Kiamba wharf would usually be around 90 to 120 pesos. And then, from the Kiamba wharf, take a ride via the fishing boats waiting at the area and ask to be dropped off Tuka Beach. The tourist will then be taken to either Tuka Beach 1, Tuka Beach 2, Tuka Beach 3, or Tuka Beach 4. No need to worry, these are just divisions of the entire beach. When one goes to any division of the Tuka Beach, there is one thing common among all four: the coconut trees, the spectacular mountain ranges, and the hilly scenery on the backdraft. And all these are virgin, unspoiled natural stuff. Of all the Tuka Beach's divisions, the one that is seemingly and most often flocked by hordes of beachgoers is Tuka Beach 3.

This may be because most of the amenities especially built for swimmers are in here. At Tuka Beach 3, one will be welcomed with the wonderful sight of yellowish white sand with bowing coconut palm fronds in the background. There are some parts of the shore that are dotted with coral reefs, so tourists need better be careful when they approach the beach by their boats, so as to avoid grazing the area. The entire Tuka Beach 3 cove measures around 600 meters, and it is all 600 meters of clear sea green water and fresh air.

There are also a wide variety of sea creatures that you can see at Tuka Beach, a large majority of which are sea creatures dwelling in corals, such as angel fish, clown fish, puffer fish, butterfly fish, and even sea snakes. Some of them, even, belong to species that can only be found in the Philippines. There were also towering rocks in the area, an added aesthetic treat in the place.

Tourists usually bring in their own food at the place. That is because one of the best pleasures when visiting Tuka Beach is cooking by the beach side.
