Tourism in General Santos City - Philippines

General Santos City is a thriving municipality in the southern regions of the Philippines that boasts of having beautiful landscapes, picturesque sceneries, crystal-clear waters of beaches, mouth-watering culinary treats and historical sites that offer a brief glimpse into the citys colorful past.

Things to See And Do

Kalaja Karsts

Topmost in the citys Tourism destinations is the Kalaja Karsts located just fifteen kilometers off the northeastern section of General Santos City, in the locality of Conel. Guests can behold the breathtaking views of the falls and caves found within the Kalaja Karsts area.

The Kalaja Cave, Bunga Spring and the Malakong Gorge are part of the Kalaja Karsts Eco-Tourism area. Camping grounds along the Bunga Spring and Malakong Gorge are open for all visitors.

Nopol Hills

Another major Tourism destination in General Santos City is the Nopol Hills, bordering the localities of Conel and Mabuhay, about thirty minutes from Kalaja Karsts. Here, guests can take advantage of the campsite, considered as the highest camping ground in the city; giving an excellent vista of the waters of Sarangani Bay and parts of Couth Cotabato, which General Santos City is a part of.

General Paulino Santos Museum Foundation, Inc.

This museum houses memorabilia of the citys pioneer, from whom General Santos City derived its name. A visit to the museum will also give guests a brief glimpse of the citys rich history, with relics, artifacts, and a display of the native costumes of the Tbolis.

Parks

There are two public parks in General Santos City, also part of the citys Tourism hotspot: Carlos P. Garcia Park and Freedom Park. These parks play a major role during the celebration of the citys many festivals.

Travelers can also view the beautiful plant and flower gardens in these parks, while going on a leisurely stroll.

Beaches

Travelers should not leave General Santos City without visiting some of the citys most amazing beaches.

London Beach Resort, Tboli Beach Resort, and the Rajah Beach Resort are only some of the beaches found in the city, but the most popular beach among tourists is the Maharlika Beach Resort, where a freshwater pool along the shore provides a spectacular place to swim.
