Saravia Falls in General Santos City - Philippines
Saravia Falls takes its source from the city of Koronadal in South Cotabato, which is about an hour ride from the tuna capital, General Santos City. It is one of the seven falls that pour from Lake Sebu. Lake Sebu is another highly acclaimed tourist spot because of its natural beauty as well as the tilapia cages. Aside from the Saravia Falls, the other falls flowing from Lake Sebu are the Lambusong Falls located in Norala, the Matimus Falls in Tantangan, and the Traankini and Nongon.
To get to Koronadal, where Saravia Falls is located, from General Santos City, all the tourist has to do is to ride either a bus or jeepney going to Koronadal from General Santos City. Travel time usually takes about 50 minutes to an hour. And then, from the Koronadal City Proper, ride a multi cab or tricycle and ask to be dropped off the village of Saravia -- this is where they are going to find Saravia Falls.
Once tourists get into Saravia Falls, they will get an idea why this is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful and tourist flocked locations in the city. Why not, with its beauty considered as one of the most outstanding of all the seven falls of Lake Sebu. The waters look so immaculate, and the gush of water falling in from its source high above looks so engaging that all tourists could do is to succumb and head for a swim. Looking around, security need not be an issue, because the Saravia Falls has officially been pronounced by the local government officials as a tourist spot. Thus said, tourists can be sure that they will be getting not just the facilities that they need when they go to the place, such as shower and dressing rooms, but they could be sure also that life guards will just be on standby in case something untoward happens during their sojourn to Saravia Falls.
Speaking of facilities, since the Saravia Falls has been converted into a swimming resort, more and more people have continually been flocking in here, this including not just the tourists from afar but even the locals of Koronadal City as well. Expect the government officials to be continuously up and about, coming up with ideas and ways to further liven up the tourist-y atmosphere at Saravia Falls. As per shops and restaurants, if tourists would want to go cheap, there are lots of sidewalk shops all over the village that peddle their stuff at bargain prices.
