Partridge Point in General Santos City - Philippines

Partridge Point is among the various dive spots featured in the Tampuan or Tinoto Wall Complex, otherwise known as The Wall, in General Santos City. The Wall is situated in Tinoto Village, which is about 30 to 50 kilometers from the General Santos City proper. Then, once in Tinoto Village, the Wall itself would just be 25 meters away. To locate Partridge Point, one would just have to travel about 300 meters from the start of the Wall to get to its shores.

Once the tourist diver gets into the dive spot that is Partridge Point, the first thing he will most probably notice is the eminence of corals in the area. This is largely due to its being part of the Coral Gardens, which actually traverse the entire stretch of the Wall as well as many other dive spots in General Santos City. In the Coral Garden, one will be able see not just corals, but the fantastic array of marine life, of course. Among the marine creatures that can be seen in Partridge Point are the famed tuna of General Santos City, crustaceans, and hammerhead sharks. There are even manta rays, eagle rays, sponges, wrasse, parrot fish, shoaling fish, and other reef fishes. Also an added treat are weird looking sea creatures such as sea cucumbers, sea fans, nudibranchs, hydroids, and tunicates. But there is one thing that is a bit sad about Partridge Point. This is one spot in the Coral Garden that has been damaged by illegal dynamite fishing in the area from years back. Authorities have continuously been doing everything to combat the problem, and in the meantime, while the damage is there, it serves as a constant reminder to those who go to Partridge Point to always care for the blessings of nature.

Partridge Point is generally for everybody, whether he is experienced in diving or not. This is because the area has been developed by an American investor into a dive spot that is really intended to be more leisurely than adventurous. Security is also never an issue here, as the developer has set up enough to respond to even the most clumsy of divers.

As per expenses in accommodations, Partridge Point as well as many other dive spots along the Wall have day cottages available for rent, averaging at around 150 pesos. Weekends are peak days for Partridge Point; so, if you want some privacy or you want off peak travel package rates, go for weekday tours to Partridge Point.
